Sarah, Kim, and I, with the wonderful help of our two Mormon Elders, built and
decorated a memorial for Kristiana. We left the following message for our
neighbors and anyone who was a friend or touched by Krista.---Jeff Isbell
To Our Friends and Neighbors-

We couldn't bear being here for the holidays because it was such a special time of year for Krista and for
us. For Krista, it meant that the family would be drawn together for special times and treats, and this
Christmas would have been even more special as she celebrated the birth of Jesus with her new church
family. She loved being with her family, friends, and neighbors more than anything. Whether it was
standing in the street sharing a laugh with John and Michelle, chasing the wayward dachshunds back
home, or fawning over little Sophie, she loved it here.

We were fortunate to move into this great town, to this neighborhood, to this street. Krista had the life she
wished for. She had great friends that shared her love for life, friends who never excluded a person
because of the way they looked, talked, or dressed. She was always there to reach out to a kid who was
new and looked lonely with a kind word and her beautiful smile. She valued you whether she'd known you
for a decade, or for only a moment.

It just hurts too much to be here at this time. But we could not abandon all that we have built here as a
family in the last four years without doing something to honor how special Christmas was to Krista. We
leave behind this cross and these pictures as a testament to our belief that we are all still together in spirit
and in our hearts. The cross is a symbol of her deep faith in God, and the lights symbolize the beauty of
her life.

We leave her memory in your keeping and invite you to honor her and her beliefs in the manner that feels
right for you. Take a moment to reflect on your family and the love you have to give each other. If you
wish, light a candle in honor of the friendship Krista shared with you, and be sure to pass that friendship
along. Or whisper a prayer of gratitude for the gift of life and wish Krista a Merry Christmas.

Thank you so much for the precious gifts of your support and compassion.

Jeff, Kim, Sarah, Marina, Jeremy, and Chris
